One week, day and night.

The simple fact of singing or playing a musical instrument and sharing this activity with other people moves us to live the passion of an artistic vocation since our youth and throughout all our lives. Moreover, the profession of making music wraps anyone who accepts it genuinely in a creative tension which affects and modulates the human being in the physical, intellectual, emotional and social fields. In Santiago de Compostela, from the 22nd to the 29th of July there will be a lighthouse settled over classical chamber music, a light which, alternatively, focuses on the interior of the process-the Academy- and on the public projection of this work – the Festival-. The day is the testimony of the transmission of experience and knowledge about the construction of a chamber group and its repertoire in a kaleidoscopic vision which embraces technique, analysis and group mechanics, in order to administrate with sensibility individual convictions and impulses in the interest of a common aesthetic aim, a shared breathing. The night, by means of the Festival concerts, invites the lovers of music in its most intimate expression to enjoy the performance of the most selected authors in music history, to discover all together in an intensive journey what authors like Schubert, Ligeti, Mozart, Messiaen or Beethoven have in common as well as to discover the première of contemporary authors such as Mariño (Vigo), Torres (Zaragoza) and Delgado (Lisbon), producing fascination on performers and public. All the work developed in the Academy will be extended, in an authentic musical diaspora, through eight Galician cities and municipalities, where it will be possible to live the experience of concerts of great quality offered by a selection of students of high level and young professionals coming from the most varied origins. Welcome to CAMERALIA 07, Galicia International Chamber Music Festival and Academy. José Luís Estellés Artistic Director |
